If you came to St Maarten, just to shop- then maybe Fronstreet is the place for you, but if you're visiting to kick back and have a good time, then you have to stick to the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk, is for the tourist, who like to sample island cuisine, sip icecold Heinekens and Rum punch, and test out the freshest Cuban cigars. I intend to do a full feature on the boardwalk this tourist season.... and I will be including many local businesses....

st maarten during the Heineken regatta shopping, discounts and lots more
I have to ask Dick about this, he actually takes part. The Heineken Regatta is a pretty huge event in St Maarten, with all its harbours and ports. Many sailors around the world come to participate in the regatta races. Me and my photog people, what we do is try to discover the best camera angles and locations. So a great day during the Regatta means, going Little Bay Hill, to Simpson Bay, to Pelican Hill, to Sonesta Maho, to Cupecoy...... Then we go home and process all the videos and photos. I'll be doing my part alone in 2014. Larry makes it back to St Maarten, then twice the photos :)

VIDEO THE YORKS STEEL PAN PHILIPSBURG ST MAARTEN VIDEO judith roumou
I have to verify on each blog, that I'm using my original content. This was a very nice day in Philipsburg St Maarten, Wednesday December 18th 2013 8+1 cruise ship in port. As soon as I got off Cannegieter road and walked to Backstreet I could see the heightened police presence. The police were everywhere. Why? Because with 9 cruise ships the population of St Maarten has a significant albeit brief increase. With 40.000 cruise ship passengers, and tens of thousands of other tourists, there has to be an increase in security. As soon as I heard the Yorks were playing on the Mainstreet, the only thing I wanted to get recorded was The Mighty Isidore Yorks "Christmas Morning in St Maarten", one of the best Caribbean carols of all time. I got than one song. I also managed to record "Ho Ho Ho, how will Santa Get Here? and "Guavaberry" So I got some of the best Caribbean Carols on Steelpans and posted them to my Youtube channel: SXMISNICE
I even have videos there with Dow and his son during Christmas 2009.
Enjoy the video, and subscribe at my Youtube Channel to see over 400 St Maarten videos.
